This document contains the ABC’s objection to Monsanto’s application to legalise adventitious presence from various GM events, including those genetically engineered to be tolerant to the herbicide dicamba. We urge the South African biosafety authorities to reject the application as GMOs, including those that may be contained in imported GM maize shipments – even low level presence – pose unacceptable risks to human and animal health.
